MODERN STANDARD ARABIC FOR MEDIA, WORK, AND GENERAL PURPOSES

This course consists of the necessary rules that qualify beginners to start speaking MSA.

The course provides learners with the knowledge of speaking standard Arabic correctly and accurately.

It also focuses on improving the main language skills; listening, speaking, reading, writing, and understanding in order to enable learners to understand Arabic used in mass media, books, and magazines.
This is an open session course. You can go as far as you push but on average, a student takes from 25 to 40 sessions to finish it. This number could be less or more depending on your level in Arabic. There are also some basic introductory lessons.

MODERN STANDARD ARABIC FOR COMMUNICATION PURPOSES

This course consists of the necessary rules that qualify beginners to start speaking MSA.

The course provides learners with the knowledge of speaking standard Arabic correctly and accurately.

The course focuses on improving the main language skills; listening, speaking, reading, writing, and understanding by studying many conversations in different situations.
 

This is an open session course. You can go as far as you push but on average, a student takes from 25 to 40 sessions to finish it. This number could be less or more depending on your level in Arabic. There are also some basic introductory lessons.

MSA FOR RELIGION PURPOSES

In this course you will study MSA necessary rules that qualify beginners to understand Arabic used in religious texts.

The course will provide learners with the knowledge of speaking standard Arabic correctly and accurately.

The course focuses on improving the main language skills; listening, speaking, reading, writing, to converse with people in Arab world and understand Islamic texts and practice religion.

This is an open session course. You can go as far as you push but on average, a student takes from 25 to 40 sessions to have a good knowledge, but this depends on your time and effort. This number could be less or more depending on your level in Arabic. There are also some basic introductory lessons.

MSA ADVANCED CONVERSATION AND GRAMMAR

This course is for advanced students of MSA.

The course focuses mainly on speaking, conversation in Standard Arabic, and giving lectures.

The course focuses on speaking about certain topics prepared from reading passages, and during the session they discuss together and speak about the main points. The grammar taught in this course is the Arabic grammar that native speaker studies in schools, not the necessary grammar to enable non-natives speak.

HIGHLIGHTS FROM EGYPT CIVILIZATION AND CULTURE

In this course you will learn about Egypt's modern and ancient history. You are going to have a brief knowledge about Egypt's culture and civilization through studying funny and easy PowerPoint presentations. Most of lessons do not require preparation reading, while some may require pre-reading.

This course covers Egypt’s history from the era of the Pharaohs to contemporary Egypt.

ARABIC CONVERSATION WITH FOCUS ON EGYPTIAN ARABIC

This course consists of the necessary rules that qualify learners to start speaking Arabic in a certain accent. 

I will facilitate speaking and understanding Egyptian colloquial. The course is designed to demonstrate the easiest ways to interact with Arab people in their countries, especially in Egypt.

The main focus will be on speaking in Egyptian accent. On average, the course may take from 25 to 40 sessions to finish. This number could be less or more depending on the student's level in Arabic. There are also preliminary lessons.

ESSENTIAL ARABIC GRAMMAR

This course is for students who need to have a robust knowledge of Modern Standard Arabic grammar. It covers only Modern Standard Arabic necessary grammar lessons.

This is not a profound grammar course about Classical Arabic, it is a course that covers the necessary grammar rules to speak MSA accurately and read correctly. The course consists of the fundamentals of Arabic grammar (13 sessions) and the Arabic verbs (7 sessions.)

By the end of this class, you should be able to get the plural, the dual, pronouns, demonstratives, form questions, form adjectives, know the gender, comparative and superlative, and conjugate regular and irregular verbs in past, present and future.

MSA FOR KIDS, HERITAGE SPEAKERS, AND RELIGION LEARNERS

This course is suitable for heritage speakers who already speak Arabic accent to learn Standard Arabic (Fus7a), Quran reciting, and Grammar (Na7w). The grammar taught in this course is the grammar taught in the Arabic schools. Accordingly, the curriculum could contain the following:

  • The Arabic curriculum taught in Arabic Egyptian schools depending on student’s level and age. (Optional, you can replace with a plain grammar curriculum.)
  • Qura’an reading rules with focus on parts 30 and 29.
  • Prophets’ stories in Qura’an.

Saudi and Gulf Arabic Course

This course is for people who intend to move to Saudi Arabia for business or tourism.

The course provides the necessary knowledge to communicate with people, know direction, greetings, understand and saying basic sentences... Etc. The course focuses on developing language main four skills in Saudi accent and acquainting learners with the necessary education to cope with native Saudis in daily situations.

ARABIC GRAMMAR OF QUR'AN AND TAJWEED

This course is for advanced learners of MSA who would like to understand Qur’an and Islamic texts.

The course is all about advanced grammar points applied to Qur’an verses in order for students to be able to understand Arabic grammar in Qur’an contexts.

The course also includes Tajweed rules to enable learners to read accurately. It is better to be advanced in MSA and able to understand MSA very well.

The Arabic grammar is deep. So it is an open session course, but with perseverance and dedication you would be able to read Qur’an correctly after 10 or 15 lessons.

Mohamed Ahmed Abdelsalam

Mohamed is a Fulbright Scholar and language instructor. He has been teaching English and Arabic as foreign languages since 2012. Mohamed worked as an Arabic language and culture instructor at Fairfield University and he studied Language Education Technology class in the United States to experience teaching online. In addition, Mohamed attended language education workshops at Arizona State University and Fulbright Foreign Language Conference in Washington D.C. He also worked as an educational writer and wrote more than 200 educational Arabic articles. During his job at Fairfield University, Mohamed conducted several cross-cultural workshops in which he acquainted students with facts and information about Arab culture. Mohamed was chosen by Fairfield University to take part at the United Nations conference about "Promoting Peace through Education."
